Recently, Grady et al.  proposed a graph-based method to segment Color Doppler volumes and computed the proximal isovelocity surface area (PISA). The algorithm requires a manual initialization of the jet origin around the valve coaptation point. In this paper, we propose a new framework to automatically detect and quantify mitral regurgitation on TTE data. 3D features are computed on multiple channels, including the volumetric anatomical (B-Mode) and hemodynamical (Color Doppler) data, to extract both morphological and functional information.
The reference for normal statistics is obtained voxel based from the set of co-registered control images and is used to infer the probability of FCD. The FCD lesions are identiﬁed with high conﬁdence and increased sensitivity compared to the commonly used clinical method . The reference for the validation is a visual evaluation by an expert physician as well as the resected region that results in seizure freedom. 2 Method A variety of intensity based, texture based, and form based features are extracted from the T1 -w and the FLAIR images.
