However, in our project we assume that metaphor is ‘metaphor to the general language user’: if we as general language users cannot establish the meaning of the lexical unit with the contemporary dictionaries alone but the lexical unit could be metaphorical on the basis of some contextual meaning projected from the basic—nontechnical—meaning, we also mark the word as metaphor-related based on ‘WIDLII’. 4. Sometimes the contextual meaning of a lexical unit may be taken as either metaphorical or as not metaphorical.
